Greetings!
I shall start this off with a little bit about me (things I don't wish to put in my bio), then get into what this is all about.
Although I enjoy MANY things besides Goth culture, nature, and my selected faith, these things are a pretty darn good triplet to describe me. I was thirteen when I became 'dark', and I have been dabbling in black ever since. Most of the time I wear a lot of black (save for right now, as I am in gardening attire), I listen to rock, any genre of metal, Celtic, opera, and orchestrated music, and things that are creepy and crawly fascinate me. Second, I LOVE THE OUTDOORS. Excuse the caps lock, but it is very true! I grew up on a farm, I don't mind being dirty, and I love the smell of the earth. Thirdly, I am Pagan (which greatly ties in to the loving nature). I never make it a point to thrust my faith upon others, however, I will make a simple statement: I believe it and am comfortable operating within it. :)
Now that that explanation is over, there are a few other things I would like to explain about myself, to give you an idea of the person behind the blog. I am tall, continually working on my appearance... like most females my age, a natural red-headed brunette, hazel green-eyed, and pretty ordinary-looking. I love anything arts & crafts, and will spend hours making something funky. Music is another passion of mine... I have dabbled in guitar, piano, accordion, viola, and was opera-trained since 5th grade.I enjoy writing, reading, storytelling and poetry. I find cleaning to be soothing and moderately annoying, cooking to be a blast, and picking green beans to be the most horrendous thing I have ever done in all my years. I have no children besides my Halloween cat (she is a tortie calico and orange tabby mix) named Macha, who wakes me up at 5:00 am every morning. My life goal is to be a mother of many children, and to be self-sustaining. I am fancy when I want to be, nice all around, and the sternest devil you will ever meet when mad. I am happily taken by a wonderful man. Other likes I have are: Nerdy things (I love my computer and video games), swimming, hiking, watching movies, sleeping, 53% cocoa dark chocolate, traveling, working hard and playing even harder than I work. I have a backward sense of humor. Other than that, I can't think of much else!
On to the next new thing: this blog and what it is about.
I have found that all of the 'green-living', 'self-sustaining', and 'homesteading' blogs, websites, and books are entirely too normal or hippie. I am kind-of a hippie myself, but I prefer earthy as a definition. I am sick and tired of trying to combine my interests! There is scarcely anything out in the world that combines what I love into ONE THING. So... here I am! If no one else has done it thus far, I will! Besides, what better way to be a creepy Dracula-hermit than to be self-sustaining?
In this blog I will be detailing old crafts I've known for ages, new crafts I've just picked up, and crafts that I myself am learning presently. I will also be sharing gardening tips... from seeds, to starts, to weeds and how to eliminate them, to healthy plants, to harvesting! I will also share things about being HEALTHY, which is extremely important! Furthermore, I will share website and books with treasure chests of info on things B-I-G, such as building houses, or coffins. Lastly, I'll throw in my witchy twists here and there. :)
Not all of these ideas and crafts will come from me! I find it important to give credit where credit is due, and I don't steal. Period.
SO, after all that, I sincerely hope you (who reads this) enjoys my little spooky fusion/arts/food/health/sustainable living blog!
